STUDENTS

Students are full members of the University academic community.
The University students:

  •  go abroad to do trainings and study at partner universities as participants of international mobility programmes

are actively engaged in:

  • studentscientific movement
  •  student organisations such as: the Student Self-Government, AIESEC, the Academic Sports Association (AZS)

can choose different options to pursue their individual interests:

  • recreation and sports sections of AZS
  • Student Cultural Centre
  • the student club "Pod Krech±"
  • the University choir
  • the Internet radio station "PIRAMIDA"
  • the student cabaret  "Z Konopi"
  • the student magazine "STUDENTNIK"     
  • The Student Self-Government
  • Students are represented by the University Self-Government Council, whose representatives sit in the collective bodies of the University (the Senate) and faculties (faculty boards). The Student Self-Government works at different levels of the University structure:

The student self-government co-manages the University and participates in the decision-making process concerning all the University students, including financial means allocation. The USGC organizes or co-organizes the Student Cultural Spring event, training courses, conferences and orientation camps for the first year students.

Organisations and Associations

The University houses national and international student organisations, including AIESEC Association Internationale des Etudiants en Sciences Economiques et Commerciales.
The local AIESEC team in Kielce is regarded as one of Poland's most active groups.

Scientific Clubs

  • 17 scientific clubs operate at the University:
  • at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering: "Arkada", "Betonic", "Feniks" and "Żelbecik"
  • at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics and Computer Science: "Energetyk", "Foton", "Fupla", "¦wiatłowód", "Rotor" and "Teleinformatyk"
  • at the Faculty of Mechatronics and Machine Building: "Laser Group", "Tarcza i Miecz", "Klakson" and "Komputerowe wspomaganie projektowania"
  • at the Faculty of Management and Computer Modelling: "Zipper" and "Funkcjonał"
  • and also "Lingua" - affiliated at the Foreign Languages Department.
  • Scientific clubs deepen students' knowledge and scientific involvement. Their role is to provide creative scholarly stimuli that often go beyond the scope of curricula. Active engagement of  scientific clubs can be seen, among others, in the activities aimed at the protection of national heritage, studio work, conservation work. Those include  the conservation of the Pierre and Maria Curie Hall and the Mirror Hall at the Scientific Station of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Paris, making an inventory of Polish tombs in cemeteries in  Żytomierz, Kiev, Lviv and Chernivtsi in Ukraine.
  • The outcome of the works of scientific clubs is presented at club meetings and student scientific conferences and highly appreciated. 

Sports and Recreation

The Academic Sports Association, together with the Physical Education Department, take care of the University students' sporting activities and recreation. There are 16 sports sections operating at the University, including football, volleyball, basketball, tennis, shooting, athletics, biking, aerobics, bridge, tourism, and others. Students can take an opportunity to complete obligatory physical education classes by taking part in sports section activities. The Academic Sports Association and the Physical Education Department organise summer and winter camps. On daily basis, students have access to the sports hall, aerobics room, fitness room, football pitch, basketball court and tennis court.

  • The students of the University are provided with many opportunities and favourable conditions to enjoy sports disciplines they want to do.
  • "SABAT" Academic Tourist Club
  • It was established in June 2003 as a unit of the ¦więtokrzyski Section of the Polish Tourist Society (PTTK). The club members: students, personnel and alumni of the University, team up to enjoy group tourist activities.

Student Social and Cultural Life
Students can choose from a variety of cultural events that take place in Kielce theatres, cinemas, the philharmonic orchestra, cultural centres, and numerous youth clubs. One of them, the Pod Krech± Club, which is run by the Student Cultural Centre (SCC), regularly organises concerts, cabaret shows, literature evenings, initiation ceremonies, discos, dancing classes, and St Andrews day balls and New Year's Eve balls.
Our town's event calendar includes  "Juwenalia", i.e. Student Cultural Spring, organised jointly with the SCC and USGC and other local universities. The KOKS, a series of cabaret shows which presents cabaret troupes who have just started their career on the stage, has been recently growing in popularity with student audiences.
"STUDENTNIK", the student-run and edited, independent monthly magazine together with the "PIRAMIDA" student radio station comment on matters vital for the student community.

The Choir of the Kielce University of Technology

The choir, established in December 1998, is made up of singers from the University and other Kielce academic institutions. It takes part in many concerts and events. Its repertoire includes church and secular music of various epochs, but special emphasis is put on Polish composers, especially contemporary ones. The choir has performed many times in the Philharmonic Hall, accompanying soloists and the orchestra in operas and operettas. In March 2008 they had a CD released with a recording of STABAT MATER by G.B. Pergolesi, in which female voices of the University choir joined with those of secondary State Music School. The choir is led by Małgorzata Banasińska - Barszcz.
In May 2008 the Choir won the third prize at XXVII International Orthodox Church Music - Hajnówka 2008 in Białystok. The Choir has become the University's indisputable pride.
